The Vista Art Foundation (VAF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of artists and art-lovers that is committed to strengthening the community through arts programs, events, education, citizen participation and communication.  Our mission is to support and encourage artistic expression through all types of art by all age groups and across all segments of our diverse community.

The Vista Art Foundation is proud to support this autonomous group of north county San Diego artists working collaboratively to produce interactive art events and provide an affordable and accessible platform for established and emerging artists. Public Art

From “Kites over Vista” to whimsical sculptures and community murals, Vista’s creativity is on full display. More information may be found on the City of Vista website.

Paintings displayed in restaurants, privately commissioned murals and sculptures can be found in a variety of restaurants, breweries and other establishments around the city.

Public Library

Located at 700 Eucalyptus Avenue in Vista, the public library features permanent exterior murals, sculptures and mosaics, in addition to rotating art exhibits inside.

The Civic Gallery is in the Vista Civic Center, located at 200 Civic Center Drive, on the second floor. Rotating exhibits.

Veterans' Writing Group

The Veterans’ Writing Group of San Diego County has published three anthology books with stories drawn from  life and military experiences. Each copy sold of these deeply personal and intimately relatable works allows the Veterans’ Writing Group to donate two copies to veterans’ organizations, military hospitals, local libraries, and USOs to help fellow veterans and their family members heal and grow from their experiences. The stories are sometimes hilarious, at other times heart-wrenching, but always ring true and are like no other. For more information:

Alley Art Festival


Join Backfence Society & Vista Art Foundation as they collaborate for 2023 ALLEY ART ON THE ASPHALT in Historic Downtown Vista, Citrus Street,  on July 22 from 4-9 pm. This year’s event includes an artist market, interactive art displays, crafts and a variety of local musical acts.

Enjoy connecting with creatives and the community at our local art space.

This event is for all ages and FREE to the public!

Vendors Wanted!

We are looking for creatives, makers, artists, and handmade goods. All works should be made, curated, or collected by the vendor.

Booths are $60-. Booths are approximately 10’x10′ (no electricity provided). Vendors should provide their own canopy (optional), tables, displays, chairs, etc. Load-in instructions will be sent out a few days before the event. No refunds – events are subject-to rain and at your own risk. The event is family-friendly, and please no drug paraphernalia – if you are unsure please email or
